PVA
Personal Voice Assistant
This is a form of highly sophisticated voicemail. Not hardware, it is an add-on service available when
subscribing to telephone or cellular phone service through a telecommunications company.
After setup, PVA is accessed by password through any phone. A subscriber can obtain voice-based
telephone/address book access, limited calendar access, voice-activated dialing, and voice-eMail. Functionality is
based on voice commands, such as, "Call Sean McCullough's phone number." Perfect for those who want the convenience
of not carrying an address book, calendar scheduler, laptop computer, or a PDA. PVA is becoming
more popular and is available in many areas in North America.
