The Computer Dictionary
Monitor
A monitor is a television-like screen that displays the visuals generated by a
computer. A monitor may look like a television, but it is not.
Monitors utilize different technology that allow graphics to be precisely displayed. Thus, on a monitor
screen, text is sharp and easily read, graphic design may be created, photographs and video may be edited. This
would not be the possible using standard television technology.
