IP Address
Internet Protocol Address
Just as every website has a way to identify it with a domain name, so every computer connected to the Internet
also needs a way to identify it. The manner in which this is done is by a number identification system called
an IP address or IP number.
An IP Number is a series of four sequences of numbers separated by three dots that
identify a particular computer on the Internet. For example, 000.000.0.000. (Don't count the last period.) IP
addresses may be static (remaining the same) or dynamic (changes each time you log on). The IP address is assigned
from a list registered to each Internet Service Provider (ISP) on the Internet.
