Ethernet
A family of commonly-used high-speed local area network (LAN) technologies in use since 1980. In theory,
ethernet is standardized as IEEE 802.3, however in practice, there are various standards being used.
Security has always been a problem with Ethernet. However, a new generation of smarter hubs has provided better
security. If a smarter hub is used, then computer users within a network cannot spy on traffic addressed to other
nodes as easily as before.
