The Computer Dictionary
Database
DB
A collection of organized information. A database may be necessary for a website to keep track of
product inventory or customer information. This information, once in the database, can be easily searched,
re-organized, and updated as needed.
Databases have grown in the scope of their ability to handle complex information. Some are able to
store sound, pictures, and video, without any loss in quality.
