Computer Viruses

Computer Viruses are software programs designed to maliciously damage victims' computers. These are usually unsuspectedly downloaded as:

• Attachments in email, or

• Hidden in downloadable software programs, usually free programs from untrustworthy websites.

Also see a type of common virus called a Trojan House.

Recommendations

1)  It is recommended that you NEVER open an email attachments unless you know and trust the sender. Even then, it could be sent without the sender's knowledge.

2)  It is recommended that you NEVER download software from a website you do not know to be trustworthy. Otherwise, you may find you have a new virus in your hard drive just waiting to foul things up.

3)  It is also recommended you use an anti-virus program, such as McAfee orNorton.
