The Computer Dictionary
Attachment
A file that is attached to an email which enables speedy delivery of both the email and whatever is in the
attachment. Sending items as an attachment may be especially useful for larger files, such as a
multimedia file, photographs, or data.
Note: Attachments are a common means of spreading viruses
and other malicious programs
to unsuspecting recipients. Many companies and wise Internet users will
not open a letter or an attachment unless they can identify, know, and completely trust
the sender. We advise you to do the same.
