In newsgroups, an article is a text message or message response. Newsgroups are a network of independent worldwide discussion groups that exchange knowledge, ideas, opinions, or gossip (depending upon the group) via "posted articles" (or messages). Each newsgroup is dedicated to one special interest or topic.
