SDSL
Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line
For a perspective of all forms of DSL, see DSL.
SDSL is a form of DSL, which is a family of
technologies that provide digital data transmission over the
wires of a local telephone network, a means of connecting
computers to the Internet. SDSL is the same as HDSL
but requires only one line and has a transfer rate of up
to 3 Mbps in both directions. It is popular primarily in
Europe.
SDSL uses high-frequency pulses and cannot be used
simultaneously with voice over the same wires. SDSL
requires its own SDSL modem.
