RAM Memory Installation
RAM memory installation is very straight forward. Be sure you have the right type of memory. Different kinds of memory do not mix.
After you ground yourself, use the following procedure:
Each type of memory is designed to go in only one way. One at a time, hold a memory board, or module, straight up in a vertical position.
Position it over the slot.
Locate the small notch. Line the module up so the notch will go into the gap in the module.
Then slide it in. It should go straight in without using force. When it is in the correct position, the module will usually snap into place.
Be careful not to force it. They can brake. If it doesn't slide in, it is most likely backwards. If it doesn't snap closed, try closing the levers manually on both sides. If that doesn't work, it's usually because the module was not inserted all the way into the slot.
If the side levers are still open, snap them closed to lock.
Double check your work.
Now, you're done.
